Based on the leading and enlightening role of the Egyptian Cabinet, Information Decision Support Center's pioneer role in the field of information, IDSC has adopted the idea of establishing a specialized center for future studies since 2003 as need which stems from the fact that shaping the future is possible and that foreseeing it should remain contingent on the national will that has the inherent right to shape the future image in accordance with socially acceptable norms.
The idea also stems from the fact that many of the challenges we faced were surmountable if means to predict or anticipate their consequences and remedy their negative effects on the future were identified. The Center for Future Studies had already started its activities in July 2004.
