| The Future of Energy in Egypt |

In cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, The Center for Future Studies conducted its third annual conference entitled "The Future of Energy in Egypt" from 14-15 May 2008.In seven scientific sessions the conference discussed twenty researches presented by national and German experts which covered the issues of new, renewable and nuclear energy. The conference was concluded with some recommendation, its most important are:
· Working on reinforcing the interaction between all the institutions concerned with energy under the umbrella of the Supreme Council for Energy in order to develop a future strategy for energy, and to achieve balanced efficient and sustainable mix for the provision of generation of energy in Egypt.
· Creating a favorable climate for attracting Foreign Direct Investment and local Investment towards the energy sector.
· Rationalizing domestic consumption of non-renewable energy sources such as oil and natural gas and achieving the optimum utilization of both. |
